Next Generation Theatre

Next Generation Theatre is one of the area's newest venues for musical and theatrical performances as well as education in the Arts. We offer classes for children in theatre, dance, and art, as well as provide a performance space for musicians and entertainers. The theatre can also be rented out for functions. Next Generation Theatre is located at 39 Center Street in Brewer in the back of the Between Friends Art Center building.

THEATRE

Our children’s theater program is open to kids from ages 4 1/2 through 19, and is great for building self confidence and making new friends. Each session runs several weeks and ends with a spectacular show open for the entire community to enjoy. Each child learns many skills that will help with all future goals, and is an experience that will last a lifetime. This program is uniquely led by teen directors, all of whom are highly motivated, natural-born leaders with high levels of talent and years of experience in dancing, singing, choreography, set design, and costuming. The teen directors make our program special, as they are able to bond and relate to kids in a way that adult directors can't, inspiring the younger students to visualize themselves as the next teen leaders. We strongly believe that "one generation shall teach it to another." All theatre productions take place in the Next Generation Theatre. DANCE

The 2011-2012 Dance Session will begin on September 12, 2011 with a parent/family observation week in December (date to be announced) and will conclude in May 2012 with a dance recital open to the public (date TBA). Workshops are offered during the summer. We offer different levels of dance including; Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Modern, Irish Step, and Musical Theater for ages 3 and up, as well as a Dance Team for ages 5 and up. Class costs are affordable, with one class per week costing only $35 a month. Discounts are given for students taking multiple classes, and for siblings. A fantastic family discount is also offered. MUSIC

Next Generation Theatre is Brewer’s newest venue for local musicians to perform. The theatre features musical performances from some of the greatest local artists, as well as touring musicians and bands. NGT offers great shows weekly, and is always looking for talented musicians and performers of all ages.
