Using 20 gauge wire or thicker, wrap a single strand around the end of something approximately 1″ round. I used a glue stick.
Cut the ends, so that they overlap approximately 1/4″, using wire cutters. Curl one end of the cut wire into a small ‘U’ shape using a pair of needle-nose pliers, and put on desired beads, charms, etc before bending the other end into another ‘U’ shape (pictures show both steps without adding beads or charms). Turn each ‘U’ on its side, making sure that they easily connect after putting the ring around the stem of the glass. A simple wire earring can also be used in place of cut wire.
If buying beads, be sure to check the hole size, so that the wire will pass through easily. Larger holed beads work better.
If you have a necklace or earrings you no longer like, they can be cut and used to make several charmer tags.
